Freelance Illustrator and Designer

1998 to Present

Created illustrations in watercolor and oil, logos, websites, pamphlets and/or other media for clients including McDougal Littel, Houghton Mifflin, Wisteria Studios, Cameron Advertising, Strathmore Paper, The Bayside Historical Society, Syracuse University and others.

 

Digital Production Artist - Medallion Ltd.

October 2004 to Present

Creation of print media including newspaper and magazine advertisements for Barnes & Noble Booksellers.

Pre-flight and insure press-ready output according to varying layout and line-screen specifications.

Color correction and retouching of photos and artwork.

Rebuilding, resizing and repairing vendor supplied art for press-ready output.

Assisting in maintaining digital files and pre-press archives, and responsible for internal and third party billing for jobs. 

 

Digital Resource Coordinator - Syracuse University in Florence, Italy

June 2002 to May 2003

Supervised creation and maintenance of the school's digital image library. Developed and implemented workflows for digitizing and archiving various media assets.  

Trained faculty in the use of computers, scanners and software. 

Updated and maintained Syracuse University in Florence's website. Responsible for obtaining, researching, and fact checking information to be placed on the site.

Designed various print media for the university including official maps, posters, invitations and study guides. Facilitated final printing of these items.

 

Field Studies Instructor/Teaching Assistant - Syracuse University in Florence, Italy

January 2002 to December 2002

Conducted cultural tours and art history lectures in various European cities for students studying abroad. 

Lectured and demonstrated technique in all painting courses offered. Advised students on portfolio presentation and provided individual critiques.

Provided art history lectures as well as assisted professors with class preparation and grading for three art history courses taught on-site in various locations throughout Florence and Italy.

Presided over layout, design and typography of two monthly magazines with worldwide distribution.
